West Coast Speaks Health Society is a BC registered non-profit society. West Coast Speaks promotes and facilitates opportunities for social connection through conversation. Grounded in established research, the society is dedicated to improving social health by reducing isolation and loneliness, fostering meaningful interactions, and strengthening community bonds for all.
I can hear it already, "soooooo, Carrie, you just started your own non-profit?" Yep, I did. And it's going to help so many people to feel less alone. My major takeaway from running all these social projects is that social isolation is way too prevelant. All my projects are simple...but they work. So, why not create a solid foundation so they can take root and help as many people as possible to feel less isolated?
Joining me on the Board are two amazing women, Mollie and Ajah - both equally committed to improving our collective social health. Ajah is also our Communications Manager, and will be handling all social media and tech-related things. As for me, I love getting my hands dirty with the grassroots stuff - building these projects from wild idea, to reality. Any communications-related questions can be sent to ajah@westcoastspeaks.ca and any operations-related questions can be sent to carrie@westcoastspeaks.ca .
